Four new sisters in Christ

/ 2023-05-05

On a beautiful Monday morning, May 1st, four individuals came together to obey the gospel and accept Jesus Christ through baptism. The church gathered around a picturesque pool to witness four souls being born again.

The first person and the youngest to be baptized among the four souls was Alyyah, a 13-year-old girl who I had studied with and the first of the four individuals to decide to obey Jesus. She said she wanted to be part of God's family and now she finally made it.

Next, Wendy, a 14-year-old who I had studied for the longest time among the four new sisters in Christ, stepped forward to declare her commitment to Christ. As she rose out of the water, she finally received the forgiveness of her sins.

The third person to be baptized was Charmae, a 14-year-old teenager who had grown up in the church but had never taken the step of baptism until now. As she surfaced from the water, the promise of eternal life through the Lord Jesus Christ now applies to her.

Finally, Dana, also 14, made her way into the water. As she emerged, she now clothed Christ. Her father was a church leader in the congregation where I serve. How happy was he for her youngest daughter to finally become a Christian.

After the four had been baptized, the church gathered together, formed a circle and put the four newly born sisters in Christ in the middle. This was to illustrate that they are now part of God's family.  We offered a word of prayer and with their loved ones, we celebrated this important milestone in their lives.

For Alyyah, Wendy, Charmae, and Dana, this day marked a new beginning in their walk with Christ. As they went forward from that day, they knew they had the support and encouragement of their spiritual family. May God bless these new Christians and the church of Christ here.
