A combination of benevolence and evangelism led to the baptism of five souls at Culaylay, San Jose City in Nueva Ecija last December 17-18, 2022.
The five persons who were immersed into Christ after completing the seeker's lessons were as follows: spouses Orlando and Evelyn Alfonso, 57 and 54 respectively; and Kaizer Santos, 14 on December 17; father and daughter Rudy Cacho, 55 and Marie Joy, 17 on December 18.
Lito Batoon, a PBC Baguio City graduate in the late 1970's and a former OFW in Australia led the group, while James Mira, evangelist of Culaylay church and Daniel Oliva taught and baptized the new converts in a nearby improvised baptistry.
Culaylay church, barely a two-year old congregation, uses benevolence and evangelism in bringing souls to Christ. Evelyn Alfonso, a diabetic whose right leg was cut off will be given a " prosthetic leg" at the approriate time while Marie Joy, an accidental fall victim in her younger years will be provided with a wheel chair. Funds for these projects are donations coming from generous Christians here and abroad.
Prayers for the new Christians are solicited so that they will become matured in the faith.
