Philippine International Bible
Institute (PIBI), a training school for preachers and teachers,
recently opened at her Olongapo City branch with 8 students.
Directing PIBI in Olongapo
City, which is located along JP Rizal Street, Mayumi, Sta. Rita, is
Roel Vitug, a businessman, preacher and teacher rolled into one.
PIBI was started through the
initiative and support of the late American missionary Charles Smith
in Angeles City, Pampanga and in Olongapo City.
These places were selected for
two reasons: to develop preachers and teachers who speak the
Pilipino ( Tagalog) and Pampango
dialects and proximities to existing church anf school facilities.
In Angeles City, Higato Tulan,
a graduate of Philippine Bible College in Baguio City, a former elder
of Angeles City church and now an evangelist in the Bicol Region,
served as PIBI director and teacher for some 10 years or more.
During Tulan's directorship of
PIBI in Angeles City, Dan Oliva and Santiago Sameon II taught some
Bible subjects on weekends as visiting instructors in the early
2020's.
Meanwhile, in Olongapo City,
brother Roel Vitug and PIBI faculty, recently gave entrance
examinations to 8 incoming students.
With new students and future preachers of God's words,
more souls will surely be added to the Lord's church in Olongapo City
and in other places.
