Kalaklan church of Christ in Olongapo City recently thanked God for reaching its 61st year of existence and growth.

This congregation started in 1962 when the Americans were still using Subic Naval Base in Zambales. Olongapo now a charted city was a municipality from 1959 to 1966.

Brethren who helped start the congregation in Olongapo were the late Johnny Poblete, Fred Angangan, Sr among others.

Kalaklan congregation is where Charles Smith started the Philippine International Bible Institute to train Filipino evangelists and other church leaders. A branch of PIBI was also operating in Angeles City at the facilities of Clark church in Balibago.

Those who thanked and praised God for Olongapo church reaching its 61st year of existence where Eddie Gallardo, Bert Braña, Tom Lizardo, the Vitug family from Pampanga among others.
