Introduction:
1. In this verse Jesus touched on several important points.
a. For one thing, He said that the Father "sent" Him [additional details are given in Galatians 4:4-5].
b. For another thing, He said that the Father was "with" Him [the Father had not left Him alone --
Hebrews 13:5].
c. In addition, He said that He always did those things that please the Father [this sustained the Lord --
John 4:34].
2. As we begin a new year we are concentrating on following the Lord's example of always doing the
things that please our Father.
